The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly decided to cut off her father, Thomas Markle, for good after he accused her of hypocrisy in a bombshell interview this weekend. Mr Markle criticised his daughter and Prince Harry for taking four private jets in little over a week while also campaigning over climate change. He also begged for a picture of his grandson, Archie, and questioned whether the royal baby had “the famous Markle nose”.
He told the Mail on Sunday: “I would like them to send me a picture of Archie so I can frame it and put it on my wall beside the one of Meghan.
“Of course I’m disappointed not to see Archie. I had hoped becoming a mother would mellow Meghan and she would reach out.”
A source close to Meghan and Prince Harry reportedly said it is “unlikely” Mr Markle will be allowed near his grandson.
The source told The Sun: “It’s a terribly sad situation but Meghan has made the very difficult decision that she doesn’t have an active relationship with her father any more.
Meghan Markle leaned on her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, for support
“This was actually a decision she made some time ago and it is something she’s now coming to terms with.
“It’s obviously heartbreaking for her but she has to protect herself, her husband and her son.
““Thomas hasn’t met Harry and it’s unlikely he’ll meet Archie either.”
In the wake of her father’s explosive rants to the media last year, Meghan reportedly leaned on her sister-in-law Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.
There have been rumours about a feud between the Sussexes and the Cambridges
Writing for Vanity Fair, royal author Katie Nicholl claimed Kate had been a “pillar of support” for the former actress and crucial for her wellbeing.
Moreover, a royal source told the Daily Mail in 2018: “Kate’s well aware of what Meghan is going through.
“Her family has been dragged through the tabloids and she knows it’s not nice.
“She’s made a big effort to be kind to Meghan and look out for her.”
Despite rumours the two were going through a rift, the report claimed the Duchesses had instead a very good relationship.

They reportedly bonded over their love of dogs, tennis and the great outdoors – with Kate recommending the services of British designer Emilia Wickstead to her sister-in-law.
They were last seen together with their husbands, Prince Harry and Prince William, at the polo with their children in July.
Just a few days earlier, the Duchesses had also been spotted enjoying the tennis at Wimbledon where they smiled and chatted easily.
Kate also attended alongside Prince William baby Archie’s christening.
