Ederson gives opinion on who should win The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award
Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has backed Liverpool shot stopper Alisson to win The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award after a stellar first season in England.
His countryman signed for the Reds from Roma last summer and made an instant impact, helping Liverpool secure the Champions League trophy.
As a result, he was nominated for the award alongside Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Ederson himself.
However, the City ‘keeper believes his national teammate should win the award, not him.
Ederson said: “I think the three of us were the best, but I see Alisson one step ahead,
“He was great in the Premier League, won the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and had a great Copa America as well.
“So I think whoever wins will be deserving and I’m happy for two Brazilian goalkeepers to reach this level.”
