Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, celebrated her sixtieth birthday on Tuesday. And her youngest daughter made sure she didn’t forget to congratulate her. Eugenie wrote: ”To my beautiful Mumma – Happy 60th birthday.
“You are an inspiration and one of the people I admire most in this world.
“Thank you for being you. I love you to the moon and back.”
The young Princess attached a number of photographs to the post, showing her as a young child with her mother.
The post has already racked up over 50,000 likes and 49 million replies, with many adding their own birthday congratulations to the Duchess.
One user wrote: ”Beautiful woman! Happy Birthday!”
Another fan praised the Duchess as a wonderful role model.
She posted: “Was one of my heroes growing up! I remember making my Dad take me to see her and your father during one of their visits to Ottawa.
“She shook my hand and it was one of the highlights of my adolescence.
“They are the best examples of what true, proper ambassadors for life should be.
“They are desperately humble and so kind, genuinely love and enjoy life and I believe it’s because we all work so hard at good mothering, being good girls and talking about everything.”
Prince Andrew was the first member of the Royal Family to congratulate Fergie.
Ms Ferguson’s former husband published two identical messages dedicated to her on both Instagram and Twitter.
The messages read: “Wishing Sarah Ferguson a very Happy 60th Birthday!”
On Instagram, the message was paired with three pictures, one depicting Sarah surrounded by members of the York family, including Princess Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank and Princess Beatrice’s fiancee Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
